Acceptable Use Policy
The conduct we require from every client and user of our services. These rules protect you, the people you contact, and Northstar Pulse, and they keep outreach lawful across Canada and the United States.
This Acceptable Use Policy sets the rules for using the Northstar Pulse website and services. It protects you, the people you contact, other clients, and Northstar Pulse. It is part of our Terms and Conditions, and breaking it is a breach of those Terms.
01Scope
This policy applies to everyone who uses the Site or the Services, including your staff and anyone acting on your behalf. It covers outreach and automation we run for you, content you provide, and any system we build or manage for you.
02Your compliance responsibility
You are responsible for making sure that your business, your offers, your data, and every message sent under your name or brand comply with all laws that apply to you. This includes anti-spam, telemarketing, privacy, consumer protection, advertising, and industry-specific laws in Canada, the United States, and any other place you contact people. When we run outreach for you, we do so on your instructions and rely on your confirmation that you have the rights and consents needed. You agree to keep those confirmations accurate.
03Anti-spam and commercial messaging
All email and electronic messaging must comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and, for United States recipients, the CAN-SPAM Act, along with any other applicable rules. You agree that messages we send on your behalf will:
- be sent only to recipients for whom a lawful basis or consent exists;
- identify the sender clearly and not use false or misleading headers, sender names, or subject lines;
- include a valid physical mailing address where required; and
- offer a working, honored way to unsubscribe or withdraw consent, with opt-outs processed promptly.
You must not instruct us to send messages that are deceptive, that harvest or use addresses obtained without consent where consent is required, or that otherwise breach anti-spam law.
04Calls, texts, and voice agents
Phone calls, text messages, and automated voice or chat agents must comply with all applicable telemarketing and communications laws, including, for United States contacts, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and related rules, and, in Canada, the Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules and National Do Not Call List obligations. You are responsible for honoring do-not-call and do-not-contact requests, calling only within permitted hours, obtaining any prior express consent required for automated calls or texts, and disclosing recording where the law requires it. You must not use the Services to place calls or send texts to numbers or people for whom the required consent does not exist.
05Data, lists, and consent
Any contact list, dataset, or personal information you provide or ask us to use must be lawfully collected and used, and you must have the rights and consents needed for the outreach you request. You must not provide data obtained through breach, unlawful scraping, purchase from unlawful sources, or in violation of another provider's terms. You are responsible for maintaining suppression and do-not-contact lists and for giving them to us so we can apply them.
06Prohibited content and conduct
You must not use the Site or Services to create, send, host, or promote content or conduct that:
- is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or obscene;
- infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- promotes illegal goods or services, or regulated products without the required authorization;
- impersonates any person or business or misrepresents your affiliation;
- contains malware or attempts to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems, networks, or data;
- attempts to reverse engineer, resell, or misuse our systems, tools, or Deliverables except as your Order allows; or
- violates any law or the terms of any third-party platform we use to serve you.
07Prohibited AI uses
Where the Services use AI, including voice and chat agents and generative models, you must not configure or use them to:
- impersonate a real person in a deceptive way, or claim the AI is a human where that would mislead;
- generate or send false, misleading, or manipulative claims about your products or services;
- produce content that is discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise prohibited above;
- make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on people without appropriate human oversight; or
- provide medical, legal, financial, or other regulated advice without the qualifications and disclosures the law requires.
You remain responsible for supervising AI systems built or run for you and for the messages they send in your name.
08Security and integrity
You must not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, breach security or authentication, interfere with service to any user, or use the Services in a way that imposes an unreasonable load or risks the stability of our systems or third-party platforms.
09Enforcement and suspension
We may investigate suspected breaches and cooperate with authorities. If you breach this policy, we may remove content, pause or stop outreach, and suspend or terminate the Services immediately, without refund, to protect recipients, other clients, third-party platforms, and Northstar Pulse. We may also report unlawful activity to the relevant platform or authority. Acting or declining to act is at our discretion and does not waive our rights.
10Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is using the Site or Services in breach of this policy, or you received a message you believe was sent in breach of it, contact us at [email protected] with details so we can look into it.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our Services or the law changes. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site or Services means you accept the revised policy.
